Updual

Terms of Service

Last updated: October 2026. Plain-language summary — this is a lightweight terms page for a phase-1 test site. Have it reviewed by counsel before scaling.

The service

Updual runs the free tools and product pages on this site: a vehicle identification number (VIN) decoder, recall checks for vehicles, drugs, food, medical devices, and child seats & tires, a Medicare plan check, and product pages such as the ClearBeam headlight restoration kit. Decode data comes from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's public vPIC database; recall data comes from the FDA's openFDA enforcement reports and NHTSA recall data (see Data sources).

Acceptable use

Use the service for lawful purposes only. Don't scrape, abuse, or attempt to disrupt the service. Lookups are rate-limited to keep the service free for everyone.

Email communications

If you opt in, we'll email your results summary and occasional follow-ups for the tool you used. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. We use confirmed (double) opt-in.

Accuracy

Data is provided as-is from public sources (NHTSA, FDA). We don't guarantee completeness or accuracy. A VIN decode is not a vehicle history report and is not a substitute for an independent vehicle inspection. Recall information is not medical or professional advice — for medications and medical devices, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Updual isn't liable for decisions you make based on results from our tools. Always inspect a vehicle independently before buying, and confirm recall details with the manufacturer or the official source.

Changes

We may update these terms; continued use of the site means you accept the current version.
